This project involves the complete utility systems design for a 55,000 SF community center, which will be located at ground-level below future residential buildings 23 and 24.
The community center will contain an adult swimming pool, children’s swimming pool, exercise rooms, gymnasium, auditorium, various community spaces and a maintenance area for the Battery Park City parks administration.
As with all structures at Battery Park City, this project will maintain high sustainable standards. Working with a LEED consultant, we have computer-modeled the facility to determine the most appropriate energy systems.
The technologies considered include geothermal and air-to-air heat recovery as well as a fuel cell to generate electricity and produce usable thermal energy.
